Thank you for your interest in the Michelson IP Institute’s HBCU Educators in Residence Program.
This opportunity is for higher education educators currently teaching at a U.S.-based, two-year or four-year college or university. You are applying one year in advance for the 2027–2028 cohort, which will begin in August 2027.
General Timeline
Applications open: August 15, 2026
Applications close: September 30, 2026
Candidate conversations: October 2026
Program begins: August 2027
Program concludes: June 2028
Program Requirements
Selected educators will:
- Integrate Michelson IP resources into at least one course
- Use 3 or more Michelson IP resources
- Attend 2 required program meetings
- Participate in 2 educator-led sessions
- Administer a brief student survey
- Create at least 1 educational resource
- Complete final feedback and program deliverables
You do not need to have prior experience teaching intellectual property. Even if you are unsure whether your discipline, course, or experience is a perfect fit, we still encourage you to apply.
