2026 Michelson IP Educator in Residence Cohort
Educators in Residence (EIR) 2026 to 2027 Application
The Educators in Residence program brings together educators interested in integrating intellectual property (IP) education into their courses. Participants collaborate with the Michelson Intellectual Property Institute to test, adapt, and contribute teaching materials that help students better understand IP.
To be eligible for the program, you must complete this application.
Before applying:
- You will need to create an account in the application portal
- If selected, you will use the same login information throughout the program
- Applications close June 1, 2026
Program expectations
Selected educators will:
- Integrate Michelson IP Learning Exchange resources into one or more courses
- Incorporate 3 to 5 IP teaching resources into their course instruction
- Distribute a short student survey to collect feedback
- Participate in program meetings during the semester
- Develop 1 to 2 educational materials informed by their discipline or community
- Submit a grant completion form and final educator survey at the end of the program

Educators receive a grant of $500 to $1,500 depending on the proposed project and course scope.
